WHY Am I Getting Crafty??

Because suddenly out of nowhere I became a Cricut Ambassador, and I can really be crafty. Because while I have tons of amazing ideas, I could never quite execute them the way I WANT them to be.

Then along came the opportunity to work with Cricut and BOOM I became crafty. Or more crafty in a very satisfying way!

I’ve got a Cricut!

I’ve never used a Cricut before, I was always intimated by all the pieces and parts. Once I jumped in and watched a few tutorials and tried the easy beginner projects, I got the hang of it. And I realized it’s not that hard. In fact, it’s easy to use!

Like super easy to use.

And friends, I can make things. And they look good when I’m done with them too. I’m not used to that. There’s always my vision, and then much later, how it really turns out.

Easy DIY Valentines Treat Boxes are just right for the beginner, LIKE ME!

That’s always my downfall, I *think* I know how my project will look when I’m done. Then I just disappoint myself! I’ve made so many successful projects on the Cricut in the last couple of weeks that I feel super creative. And the more creative I feel, the more projects I try to make.

This newfound creativity all began when Fed-Ex pulled up the Saturday before Christmas and unloaded 15 boxes on my doorstep.

What a fun afternoon!

My kids were blown away by the delivery. We excitedly opened all of the boxes. I did take pictures along the way, look at that pile.

Since that day I’ve been daydreaming of redesigning my craft room because I want my Cricut Explore Air2 always plugged in a ready to roll. My husband has been learning alongside me, and he thinks we need a whole new craft room. I agree!

My advice for anyone getting started with a Cricut:

  • relax, no one is a pro to start with
  • you will have mix-ups and mistakes, just keep trying
  • watch the tutorial videos on the Cricut Website
  • start with the beginner project that pops up when you set up your machine, it will walk you through it, and it really helps
  • jump right in with a project, and don’t put it off, the more you work with it, the easier and more familiar it will all become
