There are obviously many different occasions throughout the year where you might need to buy a gift for your significant other. It can be SUPER DIFFICULT to come up with gift ideas (especially one Valentine’s Day) if you don’t have a lot of money to spend or if the person you’re buying for has everything or if they’re just really simple and don’t ever want anything.

I am here to give you some handmade gifts for him that are thoughtful, easy (most of the stuff you need you probably already have in your house!) and are sure to put a smile on your SO’s face.

Gifts are so fun to give. I LOVE gift giving, but it can be super hard for certain people. For instance, one of the hardest people to buy for is my husband. Not because he has everything or is super complicated – it is actually the opposite. My husband is just a simple guy. He would truly be happy with anything, but what I have come to realize is that the gifts he loves the most are the ones that are made by me! (and the kids…sometimes).

You can buy shirts at the store, you can get gift cards or cologne, but one thing the stores don’t have are all the memories that you and your boo have shared together. Being able to give someone a gift that comes from the heart and means something more is priceless.

So, I thought that I should share some homemade gifts for him that I have personally done for my husband and some that I plan on doing this Valentine’s Day! These are all gifts that are super easy, but very thoughtful and the best part – you probably have everything you need already on hand for quite a few of them!

These gift ideas are also perfect if you’re on a budget and don’t have a ton of money to spend. Ok, let’s get into it!

This post is all about handmade Valentine gifts for him.

Handmade Valentine Gifts For Him

1. Homemade Pizza

Ok, what man doesn’t love food? No joke, this is by far one of my husband’s favorite things – and it’s super easy! I use the dough recipe from joyfoodsunshine. It requires no rise time and is seriously so simple! I’ll link it here: Pizza dough recipe.

I have done a heart-shaped pizza before; I’ve done heart shaped pepperonis; I have died the dough green and done a Christmas tree (that last one was actually a huge fail but the intent was there!). You get the point.

AND if you have kids, this is an awesome way to include them on something for daddy. My kids LOVE helping out and gifting their dad with some yummy food. And let’s be real – most of our Valentine’s Days now have our kiddos running around, so we might as well put them to work! Haha!

2. Personalized Beer Labels

This is SUCH a cute idea that can be totally personalized for your love story. I LOVE IT! I would just go to canva.com, upload some pics and create some unique names for your beer, print the lables and voila! So cute and custom.

I love being able to come up with cute names for the beer, too. For instance – Laugherty Lager, High School Sweetheart Stout… those are just a couple of names that I could use for mine.

Example of a personalized beer label below. I made this in just a couple minutes in Canva.

3. Heart-Shaped Cake, Cookies, Dessert…

As we established earlier, a lot of men like to be fed. Haha! I love baking or cooking up something special to coordinate with the holiday. For Valentines, anything heart-shaped or pink or red or heart-shaped AND pink… you see what I’m sayin’? It’s easy, festive, and will definitely make any man happy (IMO).

In the past I have done a pink, heart-shaped, strawberry cake. I got that recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction.

Last year I did pink cupcakes. The year before I did a heart-shaped cookie cake. I have these little heart-shaped cake pans that make anything like this super easy 🙂 You can find them here: Heart-shaped cake pans

4. Embroidered Pocket Square, Bandana, T-shirt

This idea is super cute and can be tailored to your man. My husband is totally not a pocket square guy (we are not that fancy), but a bandana or a t-shirt he would be into. I just think it’s totally cute and romantic to have a little heart with your initials stitched onto whatever you choose for your guy. He can tuck it away, but it’s a cute little reminder of you whenever he looks and sees the stitching. I really, really love this idea!

Gonna brag a little here… that’s my man in the main photo #oneluckygal.

5. Photo Album

We’re not reinventing the wheel here (idk if that’s the analogy I’m looking for – ha), but a good ole’ fashioned photo album is such a sweet gesture. And ya know what, I bet there are HUNDREDS of pictures (for me, thousands #issues) on your phone that you probably haven’t seen in forever that would be super cool to print out. I feel like people don’t really do this anymore and our pictures just get sucked into the cloud (what is that dang thing anyway?) and we never really look at them again.

And here is a romantic story… my husband actually proposed to me with a photo album. He made “Our adventure book” based on the movie UP. Honestly, the most thoughtful and sweet gesture ever because he is not crafty at all and I know how hard he must have worked on that.

Let’s bring back the photo album!!!

6. Acts of Service Coupon Book/Envelopes

If your SO’s love language is Acts Of Service then this is for you! Put together a little booklet of coupons that your husband or boyfriend can redeem. This may be a little cheesy, but also super sweet, too. You can make them realistic (I’ll take the car to get an oil change), sweet (dinner on me), sexy (one free massage) or fun (date to anywhere you choose). You know your guy best, so make them things that he would appreciate!

7. Movie/Movie Montage

This is so easy and can be super sweet. Recording a video with a super sweet message to send to your husband or boyfriend (also a really good option if you’re long distance) will really show him how much he means to you. Putting together short clips from special moments throughout your relationship is a super cute gesture and might just be my favorite on my “handmade valentine gift ideas for him” list.

8. Mixtape

Can we take it old school? Remember when people used to make mixtapes and burn CDs? I think that is still such a cool way to be thoughtful. I don’t think CDs are totally out the door yet, so burning a CD could be a nostalgic way to show him how much you care. If that’s too old school for you, make him a playlist on spotify. Is that stupid? I’m trying to sound like I know what I’m talking about when in actuality I have never made a playlist on Spotify. Haha… realizing 33 might be older than I thought…

9. Sports Art

Now this is something I have seen people make OR if your husband is like mine, he has jerseys, cards, newspapers, magazines… all of the above that mean something to him, but they are just kind of piled up or collected. Putting these into a shadow box or getting something framed would be something really cool for for your SO. My husband doesn’t think of this kind of thing but would really appreciate it.

10. Beard Oil

This last one is slightly random, but practical and cute because you can totally make it yourself if you’re into essential oils! If you are, then you likely have most of this on hand already! I like this pin from afarmgirlinthemaking.com. She goes through the different essential oils and what benefits they have. Love this one!

That wraps up my handmade valentine gifts for him! Obviously these are not just for Valentine’s Day, but can be used throughout the year! Let me know what your favorites are in the comments and others that you have done in the past!
